Duo Recital
20. February 2022Süss solo: Franz Schubert
19. February 2022Live from the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées
The programme of this live recording. made in April 1996 during a guest appearance in Paris of the Ensemble Wien-Berlin, must have particularly charmed the audience in the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, all the more so because the works by Ravel and Debussy are complemented by some delightful extra items: Three little pieces for wind quintet by Jacques Ibert, the opulent Octet by Jean Françaix, and André Jolivet’s ritual Chant de Linos together form a colourful and stylistically wide-ranging framework in which the whole magic of the two jewels of Impressionism unfolds to stunning effect.
