Masterclasses in Sachrang im Chiemgau
The masterclasses held in the summer in Sachrang, Bavaria, are of particular importance.
Here Margit-Anna Süß teaches every year together with her husband, the oboist and conductor Hansjörg Schellenberger, and other distinguished colleagues, and here the students from the Graz classes also experience what their professor understands by the term “a true education”.
Far from being limited to an obligatory weekly hour and a half’s tuition on a student’s main instrument, it implies a much more all-embracing and intensive tutelage. When, for instance, a recital or participation in a competition is in prospect, candidates are invited to Sachrang or to Case Carli in Liguria, where the initiation into the true art of harp playing is continued also beyond the official academic terms.
The teaching of children in the Chiemgau has also achieved many fine results. 11-year-old Aurelia Noichl, for instance, was placed third in her age category at the 2021 DHV competition and was awarded the Kulturförder (cultural sponsorship) prize for Rosenheim in Chiemgau. 12-year-old Daphne Spiewok, from Eggstätt, has already passed the entrance audition for young external students at the Kunstuni Graz.
